William “Chip” Closky Jr.

November 23, 1956 — August 4, 2023

Twinsburg

Chip Closky passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023 surrounded by his family after an 8-year battle with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD). Chip was born November 23, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made Twinsburg his home for the past 60 years. After college, he was elected to the Twinsburg School Board, making him one of the youngest members to serve.  For 28 years, Chip worked as a territory manager for Fluid Line Products, Inc. Since 2005, one of his favorite hobbies was the monthly poker nights with the neighborhood guys where he would routinely lose money to Art, Kevin, Marty, Mike, Pat, Sam and the late, Mark Sloan. In Chip’s free time he enjoyed martial arts and playing his guitar in a local band with Steve, Tim and Linda Radecky.

Chip is preceded in death by his father, Bill Closky.

He was the wonderful husband to Lynn of 35 years, incredible father to his two daughters, Mackenzie (Mike) Adzima, Mollie (Dave) Janis; and an amazing “Chick” to his two granddaughters and two grandsons. In addition, Chip is survived by his mother, Jean Closky, favorite sister, Sandy Gregory; brother, David; mother-in-law, Inga Pascal; brother-in-law, Dan Justice as well as many extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood of Twinsburg, Serenity Hospice of Stow and Home Instead of Oakwood for their constant support and caring nature. They will never be forgotten.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Chip’s Life on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm at Glen Eagles Golf Course,  2615 Glenwood Drive Twinsburg, Ohio.  Memorial donations can be made in honor of Chip Closky, to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD)  2700 Horizon Drive, Suite 120, King of Prussia, PA, 19406 or online at http://www.theaftd.org/in.  Condolences and special memories of Chip can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
