William And Patricia Dawson Sr.
William and Patricia Dawson Sr. first met at a square dance in Newcomerstown in 1957. Unlike the shy William, Patricia wasn’t afraid to ask William to dance, and they wed the following year on May 30

, 1958. They started their life together and bought their first dairy farm in Carrollton, Ohio where they decided to raise their family.
William Dawson Sr. was born on March 16

, 1937 and was raised in Cambridge (Kimbolton), Ohio; he passed away September 29
th
, 2021. Patricia Dawson was born a little after her husband on February 24
th
, 1938 and resided in Massillon, Ohio; she passed away just before William on March 25
th
, 2020. William’s passion was farming. He was always
“work, work, work”
on the farm with Patricia, who took care of the house-making and always made sure she was an avid participator in all farming organizations: advisor of the 4H club, secretary of the Dairy Association, and secretary of the Farm Bureau in Carrollton. Together, they were accomplished as the Ohio State Farm Family of the year in 1973. They enjoyed going out to dinner with their friends and were always ones to dance together—square dancing in particular!
William and Patricia Dawson Sr. are preceded in death by their respective parents: John Raymond Dawson and Virginia Imogene Dawson, and Carl Schillinger and Francis Schillinger. Patricia is preceded as well by her sister, Kaye Gerhard.
William and Patricia are survived by their children, William Dawson Jr., Jody (Kay Kay) Dawson, Tami (Tom) Long, and Paula Hartzell; grandchildren, Derick, Darron (Carmella), Samantha, Tommy (Allison), Mindy (Hunter), Bobby (Shannon), Heath (Janet), Timmy (Carla), and Shelby (Aarron); and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home on Friday, October 8
th
, 2021 from 4-6pm: 303 S. Chapel St. Louisville, Ohio 44641. There will be a small gathering with refreshments and food for friends and family following the Celebration of Life at the Eagles in Louisville from 6-8pm: 306 W Main St, Louisville, OH 44641 .
