Simone Samuels
Simone Samuels age 91 passed away June 11, 2020. Born in Oran, Algeria in 1929, she came to the United States in 1949.
A self-taught artist, she discovered macramé in 1970. She participated in many collaborative and individual exhibitions in New York, San Francisco and in the Northeast Ohio area, including the Cleveland Institute of Art, NOVA, Cleveland Museum of Art, and The Mitzi Verne Gallery. Simone received special mention for crafts in the 1980 May Show at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Beloved wife of the late Leonard; dear mother of Paul (Kim) and Philip (Yasuyo); grandmother of Genevieve and Page; loved aunt and friend of many.
Private family service will be held.
