Sharan “Shari” Ann Halas

Sharan “Shari” Ann Halas age 72, has gone home to be with the Lord, as of June 25, 2020. Shari was born November 3, 1947 and was a 1965 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. From the beginning, Shari was an avid lover of all animals, which developed into a deep love for Yorkshire Terriers; Nicki, Mandy, and Owen, and her Ragdoll cat, Missy Kitty, and her most recent kitty, Mia. Shari spent her lifelong career as an administrative assistant, with her last position being at Audio-Technica for 20 plus years. Shari made several close friends there, with whom she remained in close contact throughout the years. She enjoyed years of boating with her close friends at Kelly’s Island, and often with her grandchildren in tow. Shari was also an avid cook, whose forte’ was in baking; specifically, decadent cheesecakes of every kind, and it was not uncommon for her to cater to her family on the holidays with an amazing array of dishes and desserts that she’d spend hours, sometimes days to preparing.

She loved to make things ‘homey’, would put considerable thought into the gifts she gave, and would wrap them to perfection. Shari had a great sense of style, and a fun personality that would make you laugh, and long to be near her. She loved shopping, music, crafts, visiting wineries with her friends, spending time with family, and her favorite place to be was California, of which she was a resident several times in her life.

Shari is the beloved mother of children Kelly Sue Woodward, Kimberly Dawn Hartlaub; spouse Christopher Edward Hartlaub, and Brian Michael Alvarado; spouse Kristina Lee Alvarado; loving grandmother to grandchildren Kathryn Elizabeth Allison, Sydney Suzanne Goodyear, and Jacob Michael Alvarado, and great grandchildren Ian Ray Williamson, and Oliver Todd Williamson; cousin and dear friend to many.

Shari was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Caldwell, father Charles Caldwell, and daughter Kelly Sue Woodward.

A celebration of Shari’s life has not yet been determined due to Covid-19. Donations can be made at BCRF.org for breast cancer research foundation, where 90% of all donations go to research, and the Leukemia Research Foundation at allbloodcancers.org.
