Richard A Slutz

Richard A Slutz passed away July 30, 2022. He was born in Hastings, Nebraska and  his family moved to Glenville, Nebraska when he was age 5.  He attended Glenville High School, and entered the Army during his senior year, in 1965.  He moved to Canton, Ohio in 1969 when he met, and later married, Linda Hazel (Slutz).  Richard was retired at the time of his passing; however, he had been employed by The Hoover Company and oversaw the Hoover Park and the Hoover Farm maintenance.

Richard loved many things; first and foremost, he loved his family.  He loved his dog Bella, and a deceased dog named Bailey.  He loved his many friends and he loved entertaining them at the “Lakehouse” near Lake Erie.  He loved hunting – but his real passion was fishing! In addition, he loved wood working and he made furniture for his granddaughter that was very beautiful.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Slutz and Ardith Heidelberg, his older brother, Christopher Slutz, and his younger sister, Priscilla Kieffer.

He is survived by his son, William (Arryn) Slutz, granddaughter, Addie Slutz; and his stepsister, Becky Spencer.
