Rae Beals

Rae Beals passed away after a brave battle with lung cancer on November 20, 2020. She was born in New Lyme, Ohio September 16, 1939 to the late, Lucille and Walter Woodruff. She loved God, her family and friends. Rae worked as a home health aide assisting many patients during her career.   She was also involved in Alanon, volunteering to help others try to understand a loved one’s addiction. She was a past member of the New Lyme Chapter of the Eastern Stars.  She enjoyed music and was known for her beautiful singing voice. Quilting with friends on Wednesdays and at weekend retreats was always something she looked forward to. She also had a passion for reading and loved a great scenic car ride.   Rae held a special place in her heart for animals and had many pets throughout her life.  Her knowledge of nature and wildlife often made her the go-to person to answer questions or discuss specific topics.  She was always thinking of others, often collecting the perfect greeting cards months in advance to send for a birthday, anniversary or just thinking of you. She will be deeply missed by many friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Rae is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, David Beals Sr.; infant brother, Morrison Woodruff; and sister, Carlie (Woodruff) Murphy

She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Kelly) Wesely; her son, David Beals Jr.; siblings, Duane (Hannah) Woodruff, Linda (Denny) Marr, Colleen (Woodruff) Mericka; grandchildren, Jenny Beals, Katie (Beals) Commins,  Alex and Amanda Wesely; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service will be held at a future date in the spring.
