Mrs. Nancy Michelson, 87, beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1930. She spent the majority of her childhood growing up in and around Marshall, Michigan and graduated from Lakeview High School. Nancy spent many years working at St. Luke’s hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Then for most of Nancy’s and Reuben’s retirement years, they snowbirded to the west coast of Florida, predominantly in the Naples area. Nancy adored her family and beamed with pride, devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished her longtime friendships in Ohio and Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Reuben Michelson; her children David Michelson (Diane) and Becky La Shier (Scott); 5 grandchildren Arthur Tomblin (Sarah), Danielle Tulodzieski (Todd), Brian La Shier, Alyssa Michelson, Sarah Miller (Ben); 3 great-grandchildren Zoey, Paxton, and Zuri; sister Norma Gettings (Richard); and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Velma Warner, her sister Virginia Baas (Orlo), and great-grandchild Xavier Tomblin.

2 Tributes to Nancy Michelson

  1. Sue Deam Kranjc says:

So sorry to hear of this. Nancy was a long-time friend of my mother and always friendly to the kids in the neighborhood as we were growing up. Another loss for the original Delevan neighborhood. May she rest in peace.

  2. Althea Deam Schwartz says:

I send my deepest sympathy to Rube, David, Becky and family. As Nancy wrote in a letter to me, we had a very special kind of friendship – more like sisters . I will miss her.
