Michael “Mike” Cletus Dowey, 66 of Akron, Ohio passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Mike was born January 2, 1955, in Akron, Ohio to Jack and Margaret Louise (Lehmier) Dowey. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and was a lifelong resident of Springfield Township. Mike enjoyed many years of coaching “The Rockets” at Frayley Field, jamming out to Rock N Roll and spending his time working in the outdoors. He will be forever remembered for his generous heart, and his Bob Segar like singing voice.

Mike is survived by his three children; Dena (Kevin) Lancaster of Warsaw, IN, Kristen aka “Sweat Pea” (Justin) Olesky of Brimfield, OH and Ryan “Buck Wheat” Dowey of Akron, OH; and his grandchildren; Michael, Kendra, Dallas, Aiden, Kailynn and Phoenix.

    To the Michael Dowey family and friends. Him and I had many many great times together it was unbelievable. From going to the Draft House on Sunday nights while he was still in HS and my mom waking him for school the next morning to camping at Berlin Dam over the 4th of July to skiing on Portage Lakes to working construction for Rick Naska. We always had a fun time. RIP my friend. You will be missed!
