Maryann Cain, 64 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on April  3rd, 2023. Maryann was born on March 29th, 1959 in Wiesbaden, Germany to the late Simon and Helga Johnson. She is preceded in death by brothers John and Heinz Johnson, and uncle, Karl Bausch.

Maryann grew up in Germany and moved back to the United States after her father’s military tour had concluded. She continued to move and explore the United States living in Georgia, Colorado, Arizona, and finally settling in Stark County, Ohio. Maryann was a graduate of Perry High School (1978) where she was introduced to her job working at the former Doctor’s Hospital. She worked for Doctor’s for over 30 years and continued to work under Affinity until 2018.

Maryann met her husband Gary while working at the hospital. They met in 1990 and dated for five years before Gary proposed to Maryann on an airplane during a visit with her family. After their marriage they enjoyed traveling to Arizona, Florida, and Germany. As a couple they were known for their annual Father’s Day Fish Fry where Maryann would prepare her famous Greek salad, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. She also enjoyed baking butter cookies and giving them as gifts to family and friends. Maryann also cared for all the birds, squirrels and various outside creatures in the neighborhood. She was passionate about taking care of her daughter Arianna. They loved time spent together for “retail therapy’ and going to movies.

Maryann will always be remembered for her unique catchphrases and outspoken nature. She was the matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will take place in the future.
