Mary Lou Payne, age 75, passed away on April 12th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on August 1st, 1947, she lived most of her life in Navarre, Ohio.

Mary Lou loved her family deeply & was happiest when the family gathered at her home.  She touched many lives during her 30- year tenure at Country Lawn Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Aide caring for residents in Memory Care in Speret Hall.  Mary Lou also cherished her time with her beloved dog, Corie.  She was an avid bird watcher.   She is described by family and friends as the most selfless and loving person, always putting other’s needs before her own.  She will be deeply missed.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Payne, Sr; her parents, Kenneth & Cora Miller; in-laws, Augustus & Gloria Payne; great-granddaughter Avery Shankel; brothers-in-law, Paul Payne & Gregory Spencer.

She is survived by her children, Conni Babcock, Robert Payne, Jr, & Tami Nestleroad; sister, Brenda Spencer; sisters-in-law, Donna Heath, Suzie (Carl) Tyler,  Annette (Martin) Lantzer, and Connie Griffith Payne; grandchildren, Stewart (Laura) Shankel, Shane (Kaleigh)Felter, Robert (Sung) Payne, lll , Jesica Gleisinger,  Blake Babcock, Tyler Nestleroad, Josh Nestleroad; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Crossroads Hospice for the loving care and support the entire staff rendered to our Mother during her time at home on hospice care.  You made our Mother’s final days at home comfortable up until her passing.  For that we are eternally grateful.

Per Mary Lou’s wishes, there will be no services.   There will be a Celebration of Life in the near future. Condolences and special memories of Mary Lou can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
