Margaret “Peggy” Donham

Margaret “Peggy” Donham, 75, of Alliance, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2022, at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital. Born August 17th, 1946, in Akron Ohio, she is predeceased by her parents S. James and Pauline (Patterson) Sohar, and husband of 39 years James C. Donham.

Peggy graduated class of ’64 from Rootstown High School and briefly attended Akron Institute of Art.  She worked most of her life at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital in the dietary department.  She officially retired in 2018 after 40 years then worked another 2 years part-time.  She loved working there; she met her husband there; she made great friends there and was able to exercise her love of cooking there.  She loved to sew and sell her creations at craft shows. Growing up on a Gladiolus farm in Rootstown, her love of flowers and gardening lasted her entire life. She was an expert bowler and card player.  She loved to travel to casinos and fish in Canada.  She loved her Cleveland Indians! She was loud; she laughed easily; she told it like it was; she was kind-hearted and loved by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Donham of Canton and Joy Donham of Alliance; her sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Wise of Randolph and Frances (Paul) Royer of Doylestown; and her many beloved cats. Peggy will be painfully missed. Her family will honor her memory by cooking, gardening and making the most of all their remaining days.

Peggy requested no services and will be buried alongside her husband in Palmyra West Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted at
