McElroy, Linda Marie, 67, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27th, 2023 surrounded by family. She was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, OH in 1973. She went on to serve 2 years in the U.S. Air Force. She spent most of her career in human resources and most recently part time at Get Go to keep herself busy. She loved to hang at the pool and travel, especially to Maine and Boston to visit family. She also had a love for outdoor gardening, house plants and cooking for her family. She was also very fond of flipping the bird when her kids were picking on her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred McElroy and Viola Jarosick and stepmother, Marlene McElroy.
She is survived by her 3 children, Colleen Melendez, Christopher McGovern and Patrick McGovern; daughter-in-law, Jaimie McGovern; son-in-law, Kelly Melendez; 8 grandchildren; great grandson, CJ; brother, Kenneth McElroy; sisters, Debbie Sunseri (James) Dianna Barran (Roman) and Marilyn McElroy; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life OPEN HOUSE on March 19th from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Amvets Sheffield Lake 530 Abbe Rd N., Sheffield Lake, OH 44054. Condolences and special memories of Linda can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of our dear Linda. We met in August, 1970 at West Tech Band Camp, and remained friends over the years. Linda was a good friend, and I always loved her sense of humor, and wicked laugh. Linda loved cooking, especially for her family. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grands. I loved her, and feel blessed to have known her.
