Lee Patrick McGovern

October 4, 1930 — May 11, 2024

Lee Patrick McGovern, age 93, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on May 11, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1930, in Dover, Ohio to the late Lester McGovern and Maude (Gordon) McGovern.

In addition to his parents Lee is preceded in death by 3 sisters, JoAnn (Edward) Weaver, Colleen (Sam) Seikel, Nancy McGovern and his beloved wife, Corinne (Nash) McGovern.

Those left to cherish Lee’s memory are his daughter, Kelly (Mark) Mallen, his son, Brian McGovern, 3 grandchildren, Josh, McKenzie and Noah Mallen, sister, Bonnie (Dave) Savage and several nieces, nephews and extended family/friends.

Lee served proudly in the US Navy submarine service during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and loved working in his yard and tinkering around the house. His grandchildren will always remember asking Grandpa for his pocketknife to cut ribbons on Christmas gifts, always having Klondike bars in the freezer and Busch Light or Strohs in the fridge, Combo’s by his recliner, letting them hit golf balls in the side yard and he always told them to “be good” whenever they were leaving the house. He will be missed.

Heritage Cremation & Burial Society is handling arrangements, and his memorial service date has yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Crossroads Hospice.
