Laurence Barrett

Laurence (Larry) Hadley Barrett, age 62, of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away on April 20, 2023. Born in Bedford, Ohio on March 3, 1961, to the late Janese Shiplett-Barrett and Judson Barrett. Larry grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio and graduated from Chamberlin High School in 1980.

Larry loved to sing, and he participated in the school choirs every year, as well as church choirs. He retired from Paris Healthcare Linen Service, where he worked as a maintenance technician. His hobbies included gardening, paint-by-numbers, and above all, HO scale model trains. His love of trains started as a young boy when he received his father’s model trains. He built, repaired, and painted model trains. as well as miniature buildings for the train tracks and landscapes.

Along with Larry’s parents he is preceded in death by his sister Patricia A. Barrett-Lewis-Wojtowicz.

Larry is survived by his sister, Kim (David/Boomer) Barrett-Malusky, nephew Logan Malusky, niece Katrina (Adam) Belvin, great-niece Stella, great-nephew Cooper, his cat Kitty, and his dog Ariel, and his extended family.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Larry’s life on Saturday, May 20, 2023, 11:00am at The Hill Church, 3580 State Route 43, Brimfield, Ohio. Condolences and special memories of Larry can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.
