Kathy Renee Filipowicz, age 43, passed away on Friday, March 22nd. Kathy struggled with many forms of cancer throughout her short lifetime but her final fight was lost after a courageous battle with bone cancer. Kathy's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories, immense joy, and a legacy of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, William Black; grandparents, Robert and Norma Black, Mae (Me-me) Feller, George and Joan Leslie, Katherine (Koko) Zemla, Blanche Monter; Uncle John Barnhouse, and Aunt Jane Snyder.

She is survived by her husband, Jamie Filipowicz; bonus daughter, Katie (Hunter) Williams; son, Michael Filipowicz; mother, Marianne Black; father-in-law, Richard (Sandy) Filipowicz; mother-in-law, Kathy Filipowicz; brother, Bob (Shana Rosenberg) Black; sister, Lisa (Bryan) Lewis; brother-in-law, Shawn (Melissa) Filipowicz; sister-in-law, Tammy Filipowicz; grandson, Weston Williams; nieces, Rachel, Bekah, Chelsea, Abby, Alyssa, Marissa and many loving family and friends, who will forever hold dear her memory.

She will be remembered for her contagious smile, infectious laugh, generosity, and compassion towards others. Her selflessness in helping others and putting everyone first left a lasting impression on everyone she met. There wasn’t a game, competition or concert she wouldn’t attend for all her family. She left a positive impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Kathy's celebration of life will be held on April 1st, 2024 at Paquelet Falk Funeral home 303 South Chapel St Louisville, Ohio 44641. Calling hours 5:00p, service 6:00p. Refreshments to follow at the Louisville Eagles.
