Karen Lee Richards

In loving memory of Karen Lee Richards born on August 11, 1947, from Brunswick, Ohio.

On February 19, 2023, our family lost a bright shining light with a beautiful smile. She went peacefully surrounded by family. A loving, compassionate wife to Gary, mother to daughter, Nikki (Jerry) and sons, Brandon (Nikki) and Ryan (Paige). Grammy to Jayden, Logan, Dominic, and Dawson. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, father-in-law, and beloved brother, Ed (EJ).

Karen was born on the west side of Cleveland to parents Ralph and Lois Olsen, moving to Parma and was a graduate of Parma High School in 1965. She married her husband Gary on October 26, 1968. Karen was a faithful employee of Target systems for the past 35 years.

Her grandchildren and her pets (Rosie and Benjy) were her world and she enjoyed Sunday breakfast with her family. She’s known for her award-winning bacon (Grammy’s bacon).

Karen was a breast cancer survivor and an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Karen’s favorite charities: Best Friends Animal Society in Salt Lake City Utah, and/or The Breast Cancer Foundation (Susan G Komen).
