Joanne O’Shaughnessy

Josh (Joanne) E. O’Shaughnessy, age 69, died at home peacefully with her wife present, after a long illness on August 1st, 2023. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 5th, 1953.

She moved to Ohio in 1957 and graduated from Brookside High School in 1972. She went on to college and attended several different colleges. After working in different fields, she was a member of the Ohio Bar Association when she worked in Civil Rights. She considered that one of her greatest achievements.

She was a member of the North Olmsted United Methodist Church where she helped as much as she could. Josh was known for her great sense of humor and always had a smile for anyone she met. She was always willing to help in anyway she could. One of the last things she said to her wife was, “I had a good life.”

Josh is survived by her wife, Guylene Harold, sisters, Janet O’Shaughnessy and Jane Hildebrand, her brother, Tom O’Shaughnessy (Kathy), and several nieces and nephews. Josh was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Janet O’Shaughnessy, and her brother, Timothy O’Shaughnessy.

The celebration of Josh’s life will be September 9th, 2023, at 2pm, at the North Olmsted United Methodist Church, 4600 Dover Center Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio, 44070.
