James C. “Jim” Harkema, 79 of Berea, Ohio entered into God’s Kingdom on February 24, 2023, after a short hospital stay at Southwest General in Middleburgh Heights. He was born on June 29, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio to Ruth and Peter Harkema, and is preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy.
Jim’s life’s work was being the best son, brother, husband, father, Papa, and Grand Papa. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, three children Jim, Traci, and Scott, his sisters Ruth, Janet, Alyce, and Pam, his seven grandchildren and his three great grandchildren. He devoted his life to provide his family undying support, love, strength, wisdom, an exemplary work ethic, and the skills to work with your hands.
A private celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
