Harold Ray Wise
Harold Ray Wise, age 87, of Paris, Ohio, passed away Friday, Feb. 25th, 2022, at Aultman Hospital following a brief but courageous battle with his illness. Born on August 14th, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Charles and Vesta (Stoner) Wise.
Harold was a retired iron worker for Republic Steel/ LTV Steel company on 8th St. Canton, Oh. A lover of music, Harold was a self-taught steel guitar player and belonged to several bands but most notably the Blaze of Glory and Desert Winds bands. Harold enjoyed his coffee time and in-depth conversations with his many buddies, “The Hardee Boys” at Hardees in Minerva, Ohio. Harold was known for his bold, assertive, and out-spoken personality; however, it was his huge heart and immeasurable love for his family that friends and family members will forever remember him by.
Besides his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara A. Wise, a son, Keith A. Wise, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his devoted daughter, Vicki Lynn Wise of Paris, OH; brothers, Edward S. (Gayle) Wise of Robertsville, OH, and Norman C. (Karen) Wise of Mapleton, OH; sisters, Sandra K. Frakes of Navarre, OH, Gloria M. (Darold) Myers of Paris, OH, and Carol Jean Shaffer of Navarre, OH; grandsons, Joe Lilley of Columbus, OH, and Michael (Katelyn) Zimmerman of Youngstown, OH; a great-grandson, Spencer Lilley and a great-granddaughter, Schaeffer Lilley, both of Columbus, OH, and many nieces and nephews along with his beloved Doberman “big boy” Tank ( his companion, guardian and side kick).
Per Harold’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. There will be a memorial dinner in Harold’s honor held at a later date.
