, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 16

, 1959 in Dover, Ohio to the late Jack and Lillian Sims. Gary was employed at the former B&F Tire in New Philadelphia. He enjoyed riding his bike, fishing, watching wrestling and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his wife, Tonja of Uhrichsville; daughter, Chelsea (Stephan) Halsey of Dennison, Ohio; step-sons, Eric (Ashley) Anderson and Christopher (Kimberly) Anderson of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Kaden, Karter, Kyzer, Charlee, Addalynn and Ellianna; siblings, Sandy Cox, Jack (Christina) Sims, Renee (Dan) Jackson, Nancy (Mark) Homan all of New Philadelphia and Becky (Rick) Espenscheid of Strasburg, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Robin (Donald) Kauffman of Orrville, Ohio, Brandi Hogue of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Lana West of Uhrichsville; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Lori) Snyder of Seville, Ohio and William Snyder of Uhrichsville; father-in-law, Everett (Tanya) West of Marshallville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lillian Sims and mother-in-law, Shirley West.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Heritage Crematory Services of Louisville, Ohio. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
