Frank Mantell Jr

Frank Mantell Jr  passed away January 23, 2023. He was born November 2, 1925. Dad was in the Army-Air Force  that served in Europe during WWII, fighting as a Ball Turret Gunner, where he achieved many medals and honors. Later he started his own business in the early 50’s called Atlas TV & Radio which he had for many years until technology eventually forced him out.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman from a young age, he traveled to many different states for his love of sport. Even making his own fishing lures! Dad belonged to the Portage County Field & Stream  Club, attended the Church of Christ along with many more hobbies.

Dad loved sitting on his back porch overlooking his pond in his later years, telling stories to his buddy, John, about War and growing up in the Depression Era. He loved visiting frequently especially with his companion, Boomer (dog) who he loved, and Boomer loved Grandpa.

Dad fought for the last 5 weeks of his life wanting to live to be 100. Covid took his life amongst other pending ailments. He lived a full life of 97 years; he will be sadly missed by all. Rest now, Dad in the arms of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Preceded in death by his son, Eric Mantell.

He leaves behind his loving daughter, Lisa Mantell and other daughter, Patricia Roth; good buddy and friend, John Begue; grandchildren, Michael Mantell, Jason and Jennifer Roth; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Sean Mantell, and Ryan Roth.

Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve Military Cemetery on February 7, 2023 at  2:15p.m. Condolences and special memories of Frank can be shared with his family online at
