Florence Eliza Hively

It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Florence Eliza Hively announce that she peacefully passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the age of 69.

Florence is survived by her husband of 52 years, Eugene P. Hively; two sons, Eugene Hively and Edward Hively; five siblings, Russell McNeal, Orlie “Butch” McNeal, Clara Ward, Mary Shulter and Milly Bruckelmyer, grandchildren, Melissa Lucas, Holly Hively, Samantha Yoder, Robert Pauly, Shyla Hively, Eddie Hively, Brittannie Flint and Adam Rice, great grandchildren, Mason, Jeremiah, Jace, Layden, Robert, Frankie, Nolan, Leo, and Konnor. As well as many other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orlie McNeal and Juanita Miller; two children, Peggy Pauley, and Darla Yoder; grandchild, Reilly Gindlesperger.

Florence was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered and wholehearted missed by her family who she raised and supported through all walks of life.

There’s no denying that time spent at Florence’s house was a special time with memories of chit chat and her spoiling her great-grandchildren.

As per her wishes, there will be no services. All who wish to honor her life are invited to hang a bird feeder this summer at their home and post memories or final words on her Facebook page.

      I will miss my grandmother every day. She was my world. I struggle not to call her my usual 3-4 times a day just to talk and check up on her. She was an amazing woman who always put her family first. I feel honored to have such a wonderful woman help raise me and make me into the woman I am today. Love you Grandma.

        Awe so sad her and Ugene use to live behind my grandmother and I we would stand in our backyards and talk up a storm. Her and Ugene are good people.

        Hi Melissa, I’m so sorry for your loss, your Grandmother was my cousin. I didn’t know Florence very well she lived in Ohio and I live in Michigan. But I do remember her visits to Midland.

      This is really hard for me to write… She was such an amazing person and a every loving and understanding woman I remember when I was little and my mom and I lived right beside her I would always go over there before school and hang out with her son Edward and she would make us breakfast and hot coco or hot milk she was like my grandmother I’ve known her for years I love u grandma hively u may be gone but we will never forget u u will always be in our hearts have fun up there and watch over all of us down here ❤️❤️????????????

      I miss my morning phone calls and throughout the day I would call and talk to my Aunt .. Aunt Florence gave good advice wether it was medical,, food preparations ,, or just an ear to talk to … You are sadly missed by me ….

      She was by best friend in our Murphy Mart days. I’m sad that we lost touch after them days. She was always there for me

    Always enjoyed talking and visiting with Florence when we lived next door to each other for many years. Our children and her grandchildren grew up together and played together. She was a very giving person and such fun to be around. Lots of precious memories. Praying the Lord will carry you through this time and comfort you.

    Florence was a great grandma to alot of us growing up. With Holly,Sam,Melissa, Shyla we all would be rippin and running around Johnsons Apartments as kids . She was always compassionate. Will be missed❤ love you guys

    Through the years as a young child I remember spending a lot of time at my Aunt Florence’s home on Barcus … She always made me feel welcomed in her home … Recently,,her and I talked on the phone almost every morning,, I called to check on her ,, sometimes I would call just to have a conversation about something silly ,, or advice .. Aunt Florence you were a very wise ,, sensitive ,, loving Aunt …. May you Rest In Peace… I will miss you so much … love you ????????????

    Florence was a very special person, I will always be thankful for the friendship we had…She was my grand=daughter’s aunt (Ashleigh)…I’m so glad that we both got to know her and Eugene…She will be missed…Rest in Peace….
