Ellen, known to the older generation as El, and to the millennium generation as Auntie Ellen quietly passed on November 4, 2021. She leaves to mourn her fiance William Toomer; brothers, Monte Paige, and Gerald Wilson Jr.

Ellen will be remembered fondly by her children Anthony Pickens and Cartier M. Pickens Sr; grandchildren Angela E. Wilson, Kiyan A. Pickens, Cartier M. Pickens Jr.; godson David Sowell and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio Ellen attended the Cleveland Public Schools system. She held a host of jobs, most memorable is Mrs. Fields at Randall Park Mall, where family members/friends were greeted with her beautiful smile and free cookies.

Ellen met William Toomer who remained a loving and steadfast fixture in her life these 10 (+) years and never missed a day in her care.

Having a warm and loving nature, she embodied the bible verse 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Until We Meet Again

We think about you always

We talk about you still

You have never been forgotten

And you never will

We hold you close within our hearts

And there you will remain

To walk and guide us through our lives

Until we meet again
