Edward Mitchell

Edward A. Mitchell age 59, passed away on December 30, 2022.   Ed grew up in Parma, Ohio and resided in Akron, Ohio for the last 5 years.  He loved to be outside working in the yard adding new things to it. He was a babysitter to our granddaughter, Aubrey and to many others over the years.  Ed loved to take Sunday drives, go on family vacations and learn about different areas. He was a quiet person, loved his family and welcomed new members to the family, unconditionally. He was blessed to have friends that were close to him and knew him.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, James F and Ethel M. (Boyert) Mitchell

Ed is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Taylor) Mitchell; children, Samantha J. (Eric) Dias and Neal E. Mitchell; granddaughter, Aubrey J.; step-grandchildren, Tyler and Brooklynn Dias. Ed was one of nine siblings: Terry (Rhonda), Laura (Mark), Joyce (Gary), Nancy (Greg), Ted (twin), Bonnie (Ed), Nadine (Dennis) and Michele. He was a brother-in-law to, Juanita (Bhagu) “Dutch” Advani, Robert (Janice) Taylor and William (Beverly) Taylor;  uncle to 20 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece; and leaves behind his animal buddies, Toots and Katie.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located at 1361 W. Market Street Akron, OH 44313.  There will be no wake or viewing. Condolences and special memories of Ed can be shared with his family online at
