Dewey Thomas Jr 70 of Dennison, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born April 12, 1953 in Hazard, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Dewey Thomas and Lorene (Salyers) Thomas. 

On September 11, 1970, Dewey married the former Rose Striker, who survives him along with their children, Melissa (Herb) Morris, Joi (Andy) Brown, Dewey (Keeley) Thomas and Susan (James) Barber. Dewey is also survived by grandkids, Niccole, Devin, Michael and Breanna Morris, Tanner and Cameron Brown, Gavin, Bryer and Brynley Thomas, and Cierra, Destinee, Madison, Natalia Barber; and 15 great-grandkids. He also leaves behind his sister, Winnie Barlock and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Helfer, sister, Joan Nelson, brother, Kelce Thomas, grandsons, Andrew (Cecil) Brown III and Benjamin Morris.
 
Dewey worked for over 40 years at the former Barmet (IMCO) Recycling in Uhrichsville. He retired 7 years ago at the age of 62. His favorite past times were hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend, Bobby Harshey. He also loved riding his Harley and losing money at the casino. 

Cremation is planned without public visitation or service. His family is planning a private celebration of his life at a later date.
