He was born June 3, 1953, in Canton, Ohio to Kenneth (Dick) Cordes and Betty J (Smith) Cordes. David was a 1971 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.
He is survived by brothers, Richard (Marybeth) Cordes of Magnolia, Gordon (Debbie) Cordes of Litchfield, Ohio, Dan (Betsy) Cordes of Mineral City, Ohio, Mark Cordes of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Karen Grimsley of Canton, Gail (Toni) Maloney of Texaranka, Texas, Carol Cordes of Commerce, Texas; and stepmom, Barb Cordes of Paris, Texas.
Memorial service will be held at later date.
