Damon “Bud” Johnson

Damon “Bud” Johnson passed away on November 4, 2020.  Born on August 11, 1931 in Bergholz, Ohio to the late William and Opal Johnson. He lived his whole life in Bergholz, until recently moving to The Inn at Belden Village in Canton. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War, a member of the Amsterdam VFW, Bergholz Fire Department, Ruritan Club, Bergholz Community Foundation, Bergholz Christian Church, former Mayor and Councilman of Bergholz, July 4th Parade organizer, and a retiree from Ohio Edison Sammis Plant.

In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth, who passed on May 27, 2020; siblings, Elizabeth “Pink” Bray, Evalyn “Ev” Sperber, Arnold “Arnie” Johnson, Avis Johnson, William “Bill” Johnson, Charles “Sheene” Johnson, and Burdette “Dan” Johnson.

He is survived by daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Tulodzieski; grandchildren, Megan (David) DiFranco, Brett (Anita) Tulodzieski; great-grandchildren, Caroline and James DiFranco; sister-in-law, Doris (Pye) Joynson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff at The Inn of Belden Village and Crossroads Hospice for caring for Bud during his stay. Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Condolences and special memories can be shared with the family online at
