Cheri L. Urda
Cheri L. Urda, age 71, of Shaker Heights, OH, died peacefully on February 23, 2020.
Adoring mother to Karla R. Comp (Robert Harding) of Shaker Heights, OH and R. Brian (Christy) Urda of Youngstown, Fl., devoted grandmother (Grammy) of Danielle E. Comp, step grammy to Curtis and Derek Harding. Cheri is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Lorraine Johnson, her brother Morris E. Johnson and her husband of 43 years, John W. Urda.
Cheri will be missed by countless friends, extended family members, co-workers, friends of her children and grandchildren for whom she was like a second mother, and her Hospice staff (fondly named by her daughter “Cheri’s Angels”) that gave her unconditional love and support over her last several years of fighting cancer. Cheri had resided with her daughter and son in law in Shaker Heights, OH for the past four years prior to her Hospice admission that comforted her during her last weeks.
Cheri loved to travel to casinos, take road trips with her family, and visit her friends and classmates in Pennsylvania. She loved arts and crafts, music, and was incredibly devoted to and proud of her family.
Per Cheri’s wishes, following cremation the family will mourn privately but ask that her friends cherish the special moments they have shared throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Living Hospice at 38879 Mentor Ave, Willoughby, OH 44094
