Carolyn Sue Pierson

Carolyn Sue (Nichols) Pierson passed away May 6, 2020 at home surrounded by family following a 19-month long battle with cancer. She was born December 8, 1942 in Parkersburg, WV to Clyde Royand Alice Isabelle (Midkiff) Nichols. She grew up in Cairo, WV where she was head majorette for the Cairo HS band and was crowned Miss Cairo Pharoah. She was a 1961 graduate.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Everett Pierson on December 30, 1962, and moved to Alliance, OH to begin married life and raise a family. Carolyn was well known for her baking and candy making. In her younger years she enjoyed tending to her roses and African violets. She was a talented flower arranger. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, going home to WV, and watching the Cleveland Indians.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Kester Nichols, Sharon Holbert, Shirley Jonas, John Nichols, son-in-law Jeffrey Holbrook, and special brother-in-law Rodger Jonas.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Everett, children Kimberly Holbrook, Carl Pierson, Sheri (Bruce) Boehm, Dianna Pierson, and Michelle (Calvin) Aldridge, all of Alliance; grandchildren Jessica Holbrook (David Schuler) of Akron, Alissa Lawson of Alliance, Emily Holbrook of Tampa, FL, Johnathan Aldridge of Alliance, Benjamin (Hannah) Holbrook of Champaign, IL and Brandon Aldridge (Stephanie Smyth) of Mogadore, great-granddaughter Addison, and another great-granddaughter due in July.

A private family service will take place at the First Baptist Church of Alliance with the Rev.

Joshua Smith officiating. Internment will take place at the Cairo IOOF cemetery in Cairo, WV at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Alliance in her name. Arrangements are at the direction of the Heritage Cremation Society of Louisville, OH. Condolences can be shared with the family online at https://www.heritagecremationsociety.com/.
