Carol Lee Smith age 73, gained her angel wings on Friday, March 13, 2020 with family by her side. Carol was born to the late Robert Winger and late Dorothy Miller May 4
th
, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She loved to collect angels; she had many and cherished them all. She loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys play and her favorite color was blue. She enjoyed making spaghetti, meatloaf, pork and sauerkraut, usually on Sundays. She loved her sweets and her Pepsi. Carol loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Before Carol became ill with COPD, she worked many years at the Old 97 Café, in Kenmore. She made many friends there. Carol will be remembered for her kind heart and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her children, Faith (Lee) Sigler, Charles (Gail) Hilty, Kevin (Alyssa) Philips, Donald (Shelly) Shackelford, Matt Shackelford and Charmaine (Larry) Dantz; twenty-six grandkids and twenty-one great-grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Ashcraft; son, Michael Phillips; and daughter, Crystal Ferris.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days. We would also like to thank anyone who has prayed and donated towards Carol’s memorial. Due to the COVID-19 virus, memorial plans will be held at a later date.
