Carol A. Hrivnak

Carol A. Hrivnak age 77, of Richfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2021 in the care of hospice after a lengthy illness.

She was born to the late Bernard and Dorothy Feldtz in Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised in Cleveland with her lone sibling Richard, having graduated from Rhodes high school.  She later obtained her associate’s degree in teaching from Kent State University.

She was a dedicated mother, a great cook and baker, and an accomplished gardener.  She enjoyed the outdoors, and remained active as she thrived on the racquetball court, the softball field, and the bowling alley.  She was also very artistic, and enjoyed a variety of crafts and artistic outlets.  She loved animals and maintained a variety of pets throughout her years, including birds, dogs, and horses.  Of particular note are her beloved Sammy Star (horse) and dogs Tyler and Hershey.

Carol was ambitious, intelligent, and independent.  While she held a wide array of jobs after raising her children, from hosting events at the Taverne of Richfield to maintaining various flower gardens throughout the Metroparks, and most recently enjoyed her days as a school bus driver for Revere local schools, as she thoroughly enjoyed the children and her colleagues.  She was a dedicated employee – doing whatever was asked and more.  She was also a kind neighbor and the spunky, interesting aunt!

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Feldtz.  She is survived by her two sons, Bret (Lisa) and Bryan (Amy) and her grandchildren Olivia and Gabrielle (Bret and Lisa) and Sam and Jacob (Bryan and Amy), and her sister-in-law June Feldtz and nieces (Renee and Kathy) and nephews (Rich and Michael).

A future memorial and life celebration will be held at a later date, when able.
