Betty Emery

Betty K. Emery 76 of Dover, Ohio passed away November 1, 2023 at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Emery; son, Scott A. White; parents, Minnie and Clarence Stein along with 10 siblings.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Emery of Dover; daughters, Tracy (Norman) Penick of Dover, Minnie (Ronald) Foster of Strasburg, Almeda (Jeremy) Simers of Dover; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Twila Polen, Glenn Stein, Charles Stein, Bill Stein, and Pete Stein.

Over the last few years of her life, she overcame her fear of flying and enjoyed trips from Florida to Nevada and anywhere in between. And loved when her daughter Tracy would cook her “special” food and come to visit. She could be spunky at times, and we would often joke that it was a good thing her sister Twila lived in Michigan because those two together were a handful!!  But fun to watch.

Even though she was wise, she was always ready to listen but as a “Stein girl” after the conversation was over make no mistake “She knew”.
