Anna Merro

Anna Merro (aka Maria Iafelice) 89, who spent most of her life in South Euclid, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her assisted living facility in Parma Heights on December 16, 2023. She was born Maria Pia Luciani on Wednesday September 26th, 1934, in the small town of Introdacqua, Italy. After World War II, in the year 1953 the family moved to Niagara Falls, Canada. Mom was a strong and determined individual who loved her family. When she married, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio and started a family. She was a caring and nurturing mother to her sons. With only a 6th grade education, she still was able to study and become a United States citizen as well as earn her Ohio Licensure in Cosmetology. Mom would work hard as a beautician at home as well as a seamstress. She enjoyed gardening, canning, making Christmas cookies, homemade pastas, and soups as well as baking bread and pizza for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermanno Luciani and Vilia (Santilli) Luciani from Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada, her sisters, Scicilia and Emelda and her niece, Anna Luciani.

Anna is survived by her sons, David (Carla), Carmine (Jamie), Paul (Lili) and Charles (Jodi). Loving grandmother to Vincent, Anthony, Gabrielle, Dominic, Benito, Angelo, Gavin, Giovanni, Salvatore, Sofia, Dana (Mai), Devin (Danielle); great grandson, Archer; her beloved brother, Benito (Benny) Luciani (Elisa); and niece, Valerie Luciani.

A mass in her honor will be held at:
Saint John Bosco on Wednesday December 20th at 10 am.
