Alice Selina “Sally” (Fitch) Byer

Alice Selina “Sally” Byer (Fitch), 86, died October 2, 2018. Sally was born on September 16, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Harrison and Violet Fitch (Hawken). She married James Byer on November 26, 1952. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.

Sally and James set out on an adventure over their life which took them to many cities in the Midwest. Eventually they would settle in Solon, Ohio in the 1980’s. Sally had a loving heart and gave of herself to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her sister Audrey Westrum (Alan), brothers Andrew, Russel (Rita) and Albert (Loretta), and cousin Barbara Stachulak (Richard).

Sally is survived by her children Rodney (Donna) Byer, Sherri (Chris) Mitko, Greg (Tracey) Byer, Bonnie (Chris) Jakub, and Andrew (Jessica) Byer; grandmother to Keith (Deidre) Byer, Alex (Alyshia) Byer, Christopher Mitko, Christopher (Jen) Jakub II, Nicole (Rick) Walters, Sebastian Byer, Anisa Byer, Matthew Byer, and Elise Byer; great-grandmother to Kailey, Daniel, Grant, Evelyn, Isabella, Noah, Gavin, Luke, and Juliet and aunt to Christine (Paul) O’Toole, Sandy Stachulak and many others.

A Celebration of Sally’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Doubletree Hotel, 6200 Quarry Lane Independence, Ohio 44131 from 2pm to 4pm. in the Petite room. The family requests that you bring any fond stories or memories you have of Sally. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
