Wendy Ann (Sutton) McElroy

Wendy Ann (Sutton) McElroy, 51, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2016 after her near 2-year battle with cancer.

Wendy was born on November 22nd, 1964 in Canton, Ohio, and graduated from Canton South High School in 1983. Wendy spent much of her adult life as a stay at home mother to her children. She also served as a volunteer Cub Scout Leader and Sunday school helper.

Wendy is survived by her children, Jessica Bennett, Casey and Colin McElroy; granddaughter Jordyn Bennett; sisters Violet Slagle and Doris Halpin; and, brother, Mark Stead.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Fran Sutton and, sister, Darlene Lucas.

Calling hours will be held on October 8th, 2016 from 3-4:00 pm followed by a private service at Faith Community Fellowship in Massillon, Ohio. Condolences and special memories can be shared with the family at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.

    I went to school with Wendy and was shocked when I saw her obit. She was a very kind hearted person that always made me laugh , we got along great . Tho I haven’t seen her in many years my heart goes out to her family . I lost my husband last November from cancer and still have a hard time believing it. I wish your family my thoughts and prayers .

    Fondest memory of my cousin Wendy was the week ends at her parents house we would get together cook out, swim and play croquet…men against women..Wendy was a power player…loved to mess with the guys..she was so sweet…love n miss her..God bless her siblings n her children n granddaughter..
