Shawn Kelly Prude passed away suddenly on November 20, 2018 at the age of 20. He was born in Detroit, MI on February 20, 1998, to Carlena Thomas and Sean Prude.
Shawn was a stand up young man who was trying to make a way in life for himself and his three daughters. He also loved his family and friends very much. Shawn always kept a big smile on his face, no matter what he was going through. He loved being goofy and making people laugh. He was always quick to help out his loved ones. Shawn attended East High School and Tow Path Trail High School. He loved playing basketball, football, and cards (that was his favorite!). He also enjoyed dancing, doing back flips, and listening to music.
Shawn will forever be missed. He is survived by his parents, Carlena Thomas and Sean Prude; sisters, Monique, Carmen, and Countess; and three beautiful daughters, Sa’Riah (Charday Taylor), Sa’Miyah (Laecha Martin), and one still on the way. He also leaves behind both of his grandmothers, Irish Thomas and Shirley Prude; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, one niece, best friend, Dyron Miley, and many other friends.
In lieu of a funeral service, Shawn’s immediate family will hold a private viewing. Condolences and flowers can be sent to Carlena Thomas.
