Helen L. Jacquez

Helen L. Jacquez of North Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 16, 2019 at the age of 88. Helen was born on August 17, 1930, in Bristol, West Virginia, to the late Alfred and Beulah Nicholas.

Helen graduated from Bristol High School in 1948, and earned a BS from Salem College in 1951. She was a lifelong educator as a profession at various schools and colleges in Ohio, including Kent State University. She retired as an associate professor in 1990. She was a talented dress maker in her spare time.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Samuel (Sam) Jacquez, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Vernon Nicholas.

A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, 1359 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV.
