Gerald “Jay” Miner

Gerald “Jay” Miner, 62, of Norton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016. He was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on March 28, 1954 to Jerry and Rosemary Miner.  He was the middle child between two older and two younger sisters whom he never missed the opportunity to tease and aggravate to this delight, but certainly with love for them.

Jay graduated from Jeffersontown High School (Louisville, Kentucky) in 1972.  He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and worked for United Airlines, Service Air and most recently Powell, Industries, Inc.

Jay is survived by children Jennifer and John; the mother of his children Susan Nikora; his mother Rosemary Miner, sisters: Linda Elsmore (David), Teddi Smith, Cathy Cliver, and Christine Toibin (Michael); and several nieces and nephews.  Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Miner.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the Danford Family since they were an important part of Jay’s life.  Jay was most comfortable & happy spending his days with the family preparing and racing motorcycles as part of AHDRA (All Harley Dray Racing Association) with Danford Brothers Racing.  Jay was a welder, machinist, fabricator and visionary when it came to designing & building racing motorcycles and could repair anything or create a needed part.

Share a favorite memory at his celebration of life hosted by the Danford family held November 5, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm at Lake Anna Hall, 542 W. Park Avenue in Barberton for Jay’s friends and family. Condolences and special memories can be shared with the family at
