Eugene A. Landis Jr.
Eugene A. Landis Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls passed away March 17, 2016 at National Church Residences at the age of 79. He was born May 3, 1936 in Colton, Ohio to Evelyn and Eugene Landis Sr. Gene lived in Cuyahoga Falls since the age of 5. Growing up he helped his father in the brick laying business and worked as a policeman at night while he worked his way through school at Kent State University where he graduated the top of his class of 496 students. Gene worked for the government as an IRS agent and earned his CPA license. Gene married Kayleen Taylor in 1972 and they shared over 43 wonderful years together.
He is survived by his wife, Kayleen; sister-in-law, Jeneane Taylor; and his two best friends, Vincent Helbling and Gregory Plesich.
Special thanks to everyone who helped Gene during his long illness, especially the staff at National Church Residences who gave him excellent care and became great friends and the Yamokoski family for their wonderful kindness.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services are planned. Condolences and special memories may be shared online at
