Edward F. “Buc” Jones

Edward F. “Buc” Jones age 65 of Akron passed away June 17, 2017.  He was born January 24, 1952 in Akron and remained a life-long resident of the area. He loved to travel and enjoyed hiking, biking, and kayaking.  On a sunny day you could find him sailing on Portage Lakes.  He was a volunteer for the Cuyahoga Valley National Parks and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

Edward is preceded in death by his father Edward D. Jones.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy Jones; sister Lorri (Bob) Helbig and their daughters, Taylor and Madison; brother Todd (Minja) Jones and their daughters, Isabelle and Ella; sister Patricia Crawford and her sons Jason and Ramsey; daughter Lindsay (Adam) Sharpless; and his significant other Joanne Post.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services are planned.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.

    that was Buc. His gift to us was love and friendship.

    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Buc. I will grieve for your loss, but will also celebrate Buc’s life. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time.
    I have known Buc since junior high and will always remember his great smile, blue eyes, and sense of humor. So glad I spent time with Buc at our 45th class reunion.
