Charles W. Raffle

Charles W. Raffle was the third born son of Mary and John Raffle and the grandson of John and Teresa Temme, who along with their five children emigrated from Germany to Salineville, Ohio in 1908.

A graduate of Salineville High School and Canton Actual Business College, Charles was employed as a respected accountant for his entire career.

He was a devoted Duplicate Bridge player starting in 1947; obtaining national ranking of Silver Life Master.  A lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Charles served as an Elder, a Deacon, and taught Sunday School for youth and Bible Study for adults for over 40 years. His last affiliation was with The First Christian Church in Dover, Ohio, where he served in the above capacities, as well as on the Missionary Committee and as Treasurer.

Charles was the last surviving sibling of Wilfred, Lloyd, and Carl Raffle and Mary Raffle Winter.  He is additionally survived and loved by nine nieces, nephews, and many more, great and great, great, nieces and nephews

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at The First Christian Church in Dover, Ohio.
