Barbara Lynn Wisniewski

Barbara Lynn (Vana) Wisniewski was born June 24th, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph Vana and Annette Szewczuk. She passed peacefully at Hospice of Medina County, Wednesday May 13th, 2015 surrounded by her family, the scent of her favorite lilacs and the sound of hymns playing.

Barbara was doted on by her grandmother and aunt, being showered with ballet lessons, trips to the theater and lavish birthday parties and love. She attended Lakewood High School and later moved to Medina where she spent her life raising her children and being a homemaker. She loved to spend her time entertaining and enjoying a meal with friends and family, making every holiday or event memorable, enjoyable and eventful. Her hobbies included gardening and searching for the never-ending “bargain” while visiting thrift stores and garage sales. She was known to her grandchildren as Grandma” Bee” and spent time coloring, making creative snacks and blowing bubbles with them. She had a deep faith, and was very candid when sharing it with others. She was outspoken, loving and always thinking of others. She devoted the last ten years of her life to taking care of her injured, adult son. Barbara attended Harvest Time Church in Brunswick, Ohio and enjoyed church potlucks and was always happy to make a little something to share.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Vana, mother, Annette Blass, step father Richard Blass and grandson, Dylan Wisniewski.

Barbara is survived by her children Michelle (Dan) Werner, Kenneth Wisniewski, Victoria (Greg) Garber-Ellis and Craig (Jean) Wisniewski, grandchildren, Cortney, Emma, Sophia, Scarlett and Dashiell, loving father to her four children Kenny Wisniewski, brother Brett Blass, and her faithful rescued companion, Bella. Visiting hours are 3 pm, memorial service 4 pm, Friday May 22, 2015 at Waite & Son Funeral Home 765 N. Court St Medina, OH 44256. Memorial contributions may be made to Medina County Hospice.
